Area Attractions

The Lake of the Ozarks has something for everyone within its 1,150 miles of shoreline including fun on the water, fishing, shopping, golf, attractions, heritage sites, relaxation, and more.

There are hundreds of attractions at the Lake of Ozarks including indoor and outdoor waterparks, amusement parks, miniature golf, go-carts, air excursions, excursion boat rides, boat races, horseback riding, bowling, toe-tappin' fun country music shows, festivals, fireworks, museums and tours of local caves (Bridal Cave, Jacob's Cave, Ozark Caverns).

Of course there's golf. The Lake of the Ozarks boasts more golf holes per square mile than any other place in Mid-America and the courses are dazzlingly different in design and layout. You will find championship level and hackers havens on or overlooking the Lake and meandering over the area's rolling hills. Most are open year-round, weather permitting. With 261 golf holes there's a course for every level of golfer. There are also several Golf Packages offered by the The Resort & Yacht Club.

The Lake of the Ozarks also boasts some of Missouri's best retail shopping, including Bagnell Dam's Strip which is only minutes away and offers crafts, souvenirs, T-shirts, arcades, amusements, etc., and Osage Beach Premium Outlets retail center with over 110 top name manufacturers' stores with quality and value in apparel, homewares and personal items.

Other malls in the area are Victorian-themed - The Landing on Main Street, Lakeshore Village Shopping Center, High Point, Lake Wood Center and Stone Crest Mall and Laurie Taylor Mall, which are both enclosed. In addition, there are over 50 antique stores with 50 miles, as well as art galleries, country sampler shops and boutiques.

Lake Ozark and Osage Beach provide entrée to the Lake of the Ozarks State Park, the largest in Missouri, which offers picnic sites, shelters, horseback riding, boat rentals, launching facilities, an airport and two public beaches. There is also Ha Ha Tonka State Park which has over 3,600 acres, including eight caves, one of Missouri's largest springs, castle ruins, and unusual rock formations.

Much of the history of the Lake is captured in three museums: Camden County Museum in Linn Creek, Miller County Museum in Tuscumbia and Morgan County Historical Museum in Versailles. There is also the Orion Science Center, the Lake's only hands-on science museum.
