2008 Concert Series

Kansas August 3rd

These Midwest boys from Topeka, Kansas have had a colorful career, spanning more than three decades, as the classic rock band known as Kansas. Their innovative style is what drew attention to them in the beginning and keeps them in the public eye today.

This is the 30th anniversary year of their classic hit, Dust in the Wind. Carry on Wayward Song and Leftoverture, were huge hits that came within the two years prior to 19778. The violin work of band member Robby Steinhardt was something of a phenomenon in their hard rock, sometimes referred to as progressive rock context. The violin, Kerry Livgren's lyrics and the vocals of Steve Walsh set this band apart from others.

Today Kansas performs their timeless classics with the same enthusiasm they have always brought to the stage. In addition they also perform with local orchestras in various cities. This band's amazing abilities and repertoire of talent is sure to bring down the house at The Horny Toad Entertainment Complex on August 3, 2008
