The Resort and Yacht Club at Toad Cove is the newest and most luxurious full-service resort to open at the Lake of the Ozarks in nearly a decade. All of the suites have balconies overlooking the full-service Yacht Club Marina which has more than 100 slips for visitors arriving by boat and the lake. Yacht Club amenities include 24 hour fueling, pump-out service, a full service convenience store, shower and laundry facilities, wireless Internet, and access to the complex's retail shops with the latest fashions in resort wear. The marina also has pontoon boats and wave runners available for rental as well as parasailing.
Also featured are retail shops, a spa and beauty salon, gourmet dining, a fitness center, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with a swim-up bar, an outdoor pool/deck area with a waterfall, an indoor sand volley ball court, and the next door Horny Toad entertainment complex, featuring the very best in Lake of the Ozarks Entertainment with such big names as the Beach Boys and Willie Nelson in a summer concert series.
The Resort and Yacht Club also offers visitor discounted golf packages at the lake's 14 golf courses, including four signature courses. Golf packages include tee times, shuttle service to and from the golf course, a sleeve of golf balls and bottled water.
ABOUT THE DEVELOPER
In 1999, Merlyn Vandervort, then living in Kansas City, MO, and a regional vice president for Inrecon/Belfor (an international restoration company to which he had sold his construction company), found several pieces of property in desperate need of repair at the seven-mile marker of Lake of the Ozarks. He saw what others couldn't. Rather than seeing a sandwich shack and a struggling restaurant, Vandervort envisioned a 30,000 square foot four level mega entertainment and dining complex on the water.
In 2005 that dream became the reality called the Horny Toad Entertainment Complex, which, in turn, has become one of the hottest nightspots and restaurants at the Lake. Last year he opened the Yacht Club Marina with over 100 covered boat slips plus numerous Wave runner slips in what is now known as Toad Cove. The Marina's amenities include 24 fueling, pump-out service, a full service convenience store, shower and laundry facilities, wireless Internet, access to retail shops and a convenience store, and has pontoon boats and wave runners for rental, and parasailing.
This Memorial Day he completes his dream for Toad Cove with the opening of the 116-suite luxury Resort Hotel & Marina Yacht Club. The condominium resort is contiguous to the entertainment complex and overlooks the marina and the lake beyond. It will feature and indoor/outdoor swimming pool with a swim-up bar, a sundeck with a waterfall, a spa and salon, exclusive retail shops, a fitness center, an indoor sand volleyball court, and 10,000 square feet of meeting and banquet facilities. The entire complex stretches for over a quarter mile on the Toad Cove shoreline and in the summer evenings is a beacon for boaters looking for entertainment and fine dining.
During the summer months it also features a benefit concert series at its shoreline stage pavilion featuring nationally known recording artists like the Charlie Daniels Band, Willy Nelson, the Steve Miller Band, REO Speedwagon, The Beach Boys and others. And, Vandervort didn't stop there. While developing his Toad Cove entertainment, dining and resort complex he also founded Millennium Restoration & Construction Services, which designs and builds multi-million dollar homes at the Lake, Millennium Realty Group, which sells them. In just nine years Merlyn Vandervort has become a development force at the Lake of the Ozarks.
